Summer List

The things I'm looking at for this summer are pure versatility. This list is geared towards pieces that can be worn both at home (out of comfort or for a mood boost) and in public. What your 'in public' means, basking in the sun or dragging your butt back to an office, is up to you.

Flowy dress in a bold color; this one from J.Crew has a 40's vibe with a cute pattern that makes me dream of wearing it with a straw hat in a meadow. It's also 50% off right now!

Sunglasses; like these ones from Madewell. The tortoise shell pattern is given an upgrade with some bright blue flecks.

Strappy sandals with a little lift; can't wait to get these from Madewell. Animal prints are my go-to pattern for summer shoes. It goes with everything, especially white, and doesn't feel too dark and heavy.

Fresh swim suit; possibly in a retro look like this J.Crew one which has been brought back from their 1989 catalog. I'm going for the Baywatch look in a bright red and it's also part of the 50% off sale.

Gold hoops; wearing necklaces in hot weather is not the most comfortable, so changing it out with bigger earrings is a good call. I like these with a cool loop at the bottom

Light-weight hoodie; I'm a sucker for nautical, sailing-inspired fashion in the hotter months. This J.Crew one is right up my alley, with multi-colored accents and a deep v-neck, it's perfect for breezy beach nights.

A cheeky purse; large enough to hold sunscreen and hand sanitizer. There are a whole bunch of them by Kate Spade on the Real Real; think lemons, owls, embellished fanny packs. I'm partial to this camel one.

TomboyX Essentials Soft Bra; wearing like a banded crop-top, these have a high enough cut to feel covered, yet a nice open back to keep cool. I have this adorable kiwi print and am thinking of the 'endangered species' and 'arcade hero' prints next.

Bright colored nail polishSally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure series has the best blunt brushes. I love 'watercolor' for a beachy feel, but it would also be nice to lift up spirits at home or the office.

Classic Soffe Shorts; nothing beats these cotton cheer shorts we all used to roll as many times as possible in jr high. And they're still perfect--you can easily do stretches in the middle of your work-from-home day to keep your back and hips happy. I will be busy figuring out which 8 colors (there's 39) I want to purchase to qualify for free shipping.
